Environment

New shelter belts featuring broadleaf species planting as well as conifers, tree planting and hedging are among the environmental improvements carried out with the support of the project.

The upland area here is SSSI designated and we have worked with officers from Natural Resources Wales to ensure we carry out works in a sensitive manner, incorporating aspects of bracken control, wild flower meadows and access improvements to ensure native breed cattle can graze some upland areas as well as sheep to the benefit of a variety of habitats and biodiversity.
